O’Donovan’s Travels: A Healer’s Potion by John Tuttle

Rating: 4 out of 5 sta

The book follows one man’s journey to fulfilling his destiny.

O’Donovan is the apostle of the first world order. A wizard and faithful follower of Airmid Celtic Goddess. Donovan’s aging queen has yet to provide an heir to the throne.

This is of great importance to keep the peace among many tribes. O’Donovan is charged with a feat no mortal has achieved before. Appeasing he moon goddess by finding her lost daughter. A crew of 12 men join O'Donovan on the journey to sacred grounds in search of the lost daughter.

O’Donovan’s Travels tells the story of the 13 men and their journeys.

The trip is filled with danger, each man has a skill that will benefit the goal. The crew is a mix of friends and strangers, as well as skill each man has his own agenda. Life threatening injuries and lack of supplies turn man against man.

O’Donovan’s role is clear, keep the men morale and heal when needed.

I went into this book thinking it would be another magic filled adventure. I was surprised of the Christian standpoint Tuttle takes. Donovan is less of a healer and more wizard. His prayers are a cross between chants and spells. I genuinely enjoyed watching the unfolding of the story and the character development. Especially concerning O’Donovan.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, Tuttle masterfully unveils the history behind the Celtic Gods and Goddess throughout the story. Nicely blending scenarios together for those “Aha” moments. Therefore my rating is a 4 out of 5

You can find this book on Amazon.com. The book comes in kindle, paperback, and hardback.
